Jake Stone

Jake developed a love for mountain biking in 2001 after spending a day trying to conquer the 11-mile Canal Loop in Land Between the Lakes, KY.  Within a month, he upgraded his bike, had several more Canal Loops under his belt and entered his first mt. bike race. Jake spent 4 years in the collegiate ranks racing for Murray State University’s cycling team. He started off as a B/cat 2 racer progressing to an A/cat 1 racer qualifying for collegiate mtb nationals twice.  While at MSU, Jake took on the role as captain of the team and developed relationships with area state parks to gain access to and build additional single track in western Ky.

Since college, Jake has continued to compete both locally and regionally; although, not as competitively as in the past due to starting a family and a career.  Despite, time constraints, Jake has maintained his passion for the sport as well as worked with area officials to initiate trail-building for Middle TN.

After engaging in intense cross-training this winter and placing a larger emphasis on nutrition, he has high expectations for 2011 both on and off the bike.
